Joining the Weimar and Beagle...

In the Invictus household...is this guy:

Having a wife and two young kids, I was obviously overruled in my quest for an actual dog. You know, a manly dog. Having said that, this guy is already growing on me. Very sweet and lovable. It's all good. When he's fully grown, I think it's still safe to say that I've eaten bigger steaks.

Very sweet. Looks like dog slobber will be minimal (Actually kids don't generally care for dog slobber).

What kind of dog is it?

That looks to be one ferocious canine, terrifying, a natural born killer, a regular Hound of the Baskervilles as it was. Will your other dogs be safe around this monster? If loosed upon the unsuspecting, I shudder to think what that bone crushing mandible could do. Vicious, simply vicious.

He is very cute. One thing about little, cute dogs though: be careful that they don't get to thinking they run the place! It's easy to dote on such a little cutie so much they assume they are the alpha dog.

He is a Shih-Tzu/Poodle hybrid, or Shih-Poo, as they're commonly referred to. Non-shedding, hypoallergenic. Will probably weigh in at a whopping 7 lbs. when fully grown (roughly 1/10th the size of my last dog, a hardy Norwegian Elkhound). Family first, I always say.

We just lost our 13 year old Bouvier( 100lbs) and got a 1 year old 12lb cockapoo. I am trying to get use to something that small, but my wife and daughter love it.

Sorry for your loss, JDW. Never easy to lose your best friend. Best of luck with your new family member.
